Viance Welcomes Dr. Munkaila Musah to Research & Development Team
Charlotte, NC - October 14, 2025 - Viance, LLC is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Munkaila Musah to our Research & Development team as Research Scientist, Wood Preservation & Performance Testing. In this role, Dr. Musah will focus on wood technology, wood treatment, and biological testing, contributing directly to Viance’s continued leadership in the development of durable, high-performance treated wood products.
In his new position, Dr. Musah will lead projects in wood preservation and performance testing, working closely with our team to advance innovation in wood protection chemicals and treatment processes. His work will play a vital role in ensuring Viance products meet the highest standards for safety, sustainability, and longevity, furthering our mission to deliver superior wood product solutions to our customers.
Dr. Musah brings extensive expertise in wood science and sustainable materials. He earned his Ph.D. in Sustainable Forest Biomaterials from Michigan Technological University and has extensive research experience in wood composites and bio-based materials. His academic background includes studies on cross-laminated timber (CLT), wood adhesives, nondestructive testing methods, and environmentally friendly building materials. Prior to joining Viance, Dr. Musah served as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Auburn University’s Forest Products Development Center and as an Assistant Professor at UMass Amherst, where his research emphasized green construction and renewable material technologies.
