Steve Furr, past world champion, raced through three rounds of Elite Top Dragster competition to meet Kellan Farmer in an all-North Carolina final round. Furr picked up his second consecutive win in his Right Trailers ’13 American dragster with a .009 light and a 3.866 on a 3.85 dial-in. Farmer was closer to his 3.87 dial-in with a 3.875 in his ’20 Race Tech dragster, but he was behind off the starting line with a .042.

And there are more wins!

In a strong final round of Lucas Oil Elite Top Dragster presented by Laris Motorsports Insurance, Steve Furr got his season started right by stringing a strong .026 package together to put Matt Cooke onto the trailer. Cooke held his own with a .039 package, but it wasn't enough to capture the win light.

Great showing for both racers on their way to the final — Furr won over Kent Newsome, Kathy Fisher (last year's #6 points finisher), and Freddy Perkins, while Cooke's trip to the final included eliminating last year's #2, Michael White, along with Larry Roberts (last season's #4 finisher) and Russell Whitlock.
